Building for the Future with Life Cycle Assessments
Join us this month for a discussion on Life Cycle Assessments. This presentation introduces the fundamentals of embodied carbon in building structures and the role of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in quantifying environmental impacts. Attendees will learn how embodied carbon considerations align with the Boise Green Code and other environmental certifications, as well as explore a local case study illustrating practical applications, challenges, and opportunities for reducing carbon footprints in structural design. The session provides both foundational knowledge and regionally relevant insights to inform more sustainable project decisions, as well as best practices when implementing low carbon concrete on a project.
This presentation will be made by Emma Ellrich of KPFF.
